Missions Corner #1: Juan Villamonte, Peru

In Juan’s latest letter (dated December 2010) he is thankful for opportunities to serve God in Peru and particularly through preaching in a deaf church for a time.  Second, he is thankful for opportunities to serve God in his home church specifically through teaching a Bible class in the deaf Christian school as well as classes in the Bible Institute, helping to equip other believers in future service to our Lord, in addition to holding a Bible study in his home every Saturday.  Thirdly, he is thankful for the doctor’s report even as he prays medication continues to suppress his disease to an “undetectable” level.  He concludes with two prayer requests with the first being for continued good health that enables him to serve God.  The second is for clear direction as he explores opportunities for future ministry as he only wants to do the Lord’s perfect will. 

Missions Corner #2: Howard and Virginia Wynn, Philippines

In Howard’s latest letter (dated December 2010) he shares the blessing that their church has sent out its third missionary to Saigon, Vietnam.  It is wonderful to think of souls being saved in countries around the world as this “missionary” church sends out missionaries.  They had record numbers enrolled this year in the Academy, Bible College and Seminary as he notes “these are the future leaders of the Philippines and full-time workers for our Lord.”  Three of their latest graduates are now serving the Lord full time in local churches.  The third noted blessing is for the twelve acres of property purchased for Camp Victory which will be developed to be a campground for retreats, conferences, and seminars.  Prayers are for $175,000 needed to get the campground ready for use; for the health his wife, with Parkinson’s, to continue to do fine and for his own health.  Also pray for the upcoming Leyte-Samar youth camp and the Annual Missionary Conference.  Find out more of this ministry at www.gbcworldwide.com or contact the Wynns at hgwynn316@gmail.com.
